ALL OUR SOLDIERS DIE IN VAIN

All our soldiers die in vain
for what is it that they do gain,
unless tis heaven where they go,
where there at least they face no foe.
They may in death be held in fame,
but their deaf ears will hear no name,
and know not of the freedom won,
by sacrifice and bold deeds done.
Is their gain the monument in the park,
or the weeping widows in the dark,
the long white crosses in a row,
where at half masts the flags do flow?
Yes all our soldiers die in vain,
for what is it that they do gain?
