A MEMORY BOX

‘Tis covered in dust,
Cobwebs and fear
Should I with trust,
Creep ever near…

‘Tis just a box,
But is my life inside?
Might just be socks,
Or a soldiers pride!

It’s locked,
But I have the key,
Will I be shocked,
By another me…

Click! It’s open,
And now the lid,
Oh, how I’m hoping,
Now I’m peeping in…

It’s empty!
Except for space.
Of that there’s plenty,
And a forgotten face!
