Charles J. Ingerson

My mind revolves about
sometimes stuck in neutral
unwilling to either return
but yet it will not leave
memories dwell alone
some losing strength
others confusing others
unable to be released
pain remains the same
patties mixing into rain
ambushes uninvited
trails and tunnels remind
about the past – future
fire bursts – and mines
once surreal now real
again circulating lost
how many times today
yesterday and tomorrow
I and others pay the cost!
