Charles J. Ingerson

As the rains dissipated
a dryness infested all
eagerly crime anticipated
getting a permission call.

Finding homes to rummage
disserted in abandonment
as rats and vermin pillage
carrying out disillusionment.

Once a home this village
peace and tranquility found
now the beasts pillage
making a rustling sound.

Soon moving slithering
attentions gathered swift
serpents poison withering
life and death to shift.

Never will be found draught
without the serpents vile
in their bites all are caught
striking when they beguile.
