SUCH A DAY

Bright shining light
peaceful preparations
danger not in sight
or in our supplications

But others this not so:
feigning false excuses
thus intent on war to go
heaped upon their abuses.

Out of the brilliant sun
raining death and horror
evil once more was done
leading to afflictions sore.

Pearl Harbor Day born
with indifference worn
into this world with scorn
now becoming the norm.

Today not much changed
evil still thinking to beguile
just the nations rearranged
within deference’s smile.

Still the fools seek peace
this absence unknowing
only feeds terrors release
and evil keeps on growing.
