Charles J. Ingerson

Hallowed ground
trampled in history
terror’s ugly sound
no longer a mystery.

Silent are the few
who worth understands
allowing opposites view
clamoring in demand.

But only to take such
before speaking out
freedom’s fire to touch
against those who shout.

Ignorance is in captivity
shackled and chained
seen rotting as a cavity
as freedom unexplained.

Ponderings of warrior
hearing the still cries
ghosts within a mirror
when evil spreads lies.

Soldiers and citizens
learn this or now die
tyrants feed the prisons
hearing freedom cry!
