(Prelude:

Not to ever forget
the sacrifice made
D-Day did beget
in waters to wade

Freedoms cost
ignored by some
in lives so lost
generations to come

Thus in silence
bowing the head
oft perseverance
in prayer said)

In Prayer

Each Sabbath Day
remembering Father
kneeling we pray
a sister or brother

Feeling winds rain
within the savior’s debt
having suffered pain
Salvations Plan set

Humbled and thankful
so many voices lift
eternally so grateful
of this precious gift

(Epilogue:

In mourning knelt
feeling a hardness
unbelief’s to pelt
a world’s darkness

D-Day or VE Day
July 4th or 9-11
pause a Sabbath day
and appeal to heaven

In prayer contrite
hope, faith, charity
united with the right
viewing forever’s clarity)
