Charles J. Ingerson

Broken hulls shattered
shores and the depths
remnants now gathered
where storms did wrest.

Carrying oft away life’s
symbols of bygone ways
waves and rocks knifes
endless screaming days.

Evidences enough found
where men did not return
buried not in the ground
souls ever lovers to yearn.

Without a trace is bland
when cries a child at night
no father to take a hand
thus natures lonely plight.
