ECHOED CRIES

Circling over head
screams of forever
eagles protecting dead
soldiers life’s severed.

Anguish carried abroad
clashes ever stealing
waving victory’s sword
emotions beyond feeling.

Freedoms echoed cries
lost, alone and forgotten
swallowed another dies
evil and terror begotten.

Carried forward an ensign
calling those free to fight
God, family and nation
echoed cries in the night.
