ALWAYS VALIANT

Armies arranged
in single files
history estranged
in casualties piles.

Can one comprehend
death and carnage
without mortal end
villages to pillage?

Then we find today
others seeking war
how evil men stray
adversities whore.

Somewhere silent
in fields long past
yet always valiant
the graves to last.

Armies come to go
battles hard fought
laying lives low
in carnage caught.

But in the tombs
rest still the same
from mother’s wombs
having no fame.

Scarred to remind
no glory found
only decay unkind
without any sound
