THE PROMISE
Dawn comes to renew
the yearning of forests
with moist breath of morning,
upon the rising light
that blesses its crimson hope
upon the early sky.
It speaks softly in the solitude
in splashes and trickles of dew,
in jagged stencils and silhouettes,
drawn by beams of daybreak
to keep sacred the promise
to the tethered leaf.

Author’s Note: I give this as the forests are both a sacred gift and a shared responsibility, one bestowed unto us to pass on by our example to our children. These laws have been presented here each day and in the lives of those who are one with Mother Earth AHO.
