A PICTURE OF HEART

The Picture,
dapper on dresser
is sadly gone, never to be seen
but for the son’s verse
with its song, in a way,
lies years between
in the end, to transcend,
the camera,
glass lens, film fragile
its gears for a heart
its curtain of dark.
With light
of that blessed day
a lady precious for her part
another young man
his eternal journey
before him,
then, nobly, to embark.

Godspeed, My Father.
