Carol Douglas

Carol is an English songwriter of many styles, with one song published and lot’s of radio play. Words to her song “Where in the World?” show the more serious side of her work, and are about the confusion and despair felt by a young War Widow.

The song itself is not now available because Carol has recently used the music for a moving new tribute song for the victims of the tragedy in Asia “As the Tidal Wave Rolled In” which is at her website. However, if anyone wishes to have an MP3 sent of “Where’s the Hand” it will be Carol’s pleasure to send it.

WHERE’S THE HAND?

I pray for answers as I look up to the sky,
There are no answers… but I can’t help asking why?

After all that we went through, he was the only man for me,
I knew the time may come to lose my friend,
But after all is said and done, he did his duties one by one,
To the end… to the end.

He showed devotion to his life over there (where the bullets fly)
Devotion to his wife over here (where I hid my fears inside)
Devotion to the cause, “Fight for what’s right”
But where’s the hand to wipe away my tears?

I search for answers as I look up to the sky,
There are no answers… but I keep on asking why?

Everything we planned has gone like writing in the sand,
As the tide rolls in to the shore,
Everything about the man was grand,
And I will miss him more… and more.

Miss his devotion to his life over there (where the bullets fly)
Devotion to his wife over here (where I hid my fears inside)
Devotion to the cause, “Fight for what’s right”
But where’s the smile… to take away my fears?

I pray for answers as I look up to the sky,
There are no answers… but I can’t help asking why?

There will never be another; I’m at crossroads like no other,
Where the roads are blocked with stones,
Feeling gamuts of emotion, feeling proud…
But wanting him here… at home.

He had devotion to his life over there (where the bullets fly)
Devotion to his wife over here (where I hid my fears inside)
Devotion to the cause, “Fight for what’s right”
But where’s the hand to wipe away my tears?

I pray for answers as I look up to the sky,
There are no answers… but I’m still asking why…… why?
