THE YELLOW ROSE RIBBON THAT HANGS ON MY DOOR
There’s a yellow rose ribbon that hangs on my door,
I made it when my husband was sent off to war.
For as long as it hung there my hopes were high
That he’d come home safe and back to my side
For twenty months it hung on our door
While my husband was off fighting this war
When my husband came home I couldn’t take it down
For there were families who buried their soldier in the ground
I told my husband that it would remain on our door
Were it will stay till the end of this war
For as long as our soldiers are over there
I’ll take care of that yellow rose ribbon with loving care
There’s a yellow rose ribbon that hangs on my door
FOR ALL of the soldiers who are sent off to war.
