EARTH IS A BATTLEFIELD

Currently there are fifteen major world conflicts turning the earth red,
Seems like we have nothing better to do than kill each other dead;

We have Hama’s of Palestine, like madmen wielding their whips;
They went on a power frenzy, seizing the Gaza Strip;

In Iraq, ever since the prophet Muhammad died in 632 A.D.
Its people have been fighting whether it’s the Sunni or Shiite who will lead;

Since 1947, India and Pakistan have been fighting over Kashmir,
Neither country willing to give; has those people living in fear;

For over sixteen years Somalia has had no form of government,
Troops to help repel Islamic insurgents, Ethiopia have sent;

Pakistan tribal leaders aided by Al Qaeda and the Taliban,
Flex their muscles against their government throughout this land;

The Kurdistan worker party, fights for a home in southeast Turkey,
They run to Iraq to hide, their future looks rather murky;

Myanmar has been in the world’s longest running civil war,
Since 1949, 600,000 people have died, maybe even more;

After 9/11 the United States went into Afghanistan hunting for Bin Laden,
Six years later were still there and haven’t caught him;

The Tamil Tigers guerrilla group, making war since 1983 wanting to be free,
However, Sri Lanka’s government troops pushed them back into tiger territory;

The military canceled elections after an Islamic party was sure to win in Algeria,
Civil war began and Al Qaeda-supported Islamic terrorists continue to plant bombs and cause hysteria;

Columbia, known worldwide for its trafficking of drugs, is ugly and dire,
Has rebels protecting the rich owner’s farms while peasants get caught in the crossfire;

In Darfur, Sudan the Janjaweed militia, with the permission of their government, fight;
Killing hundreds and thousands of nomads into the night;

Mexico seems to be overtaken by ferocious drug cartels;
Presidente Felipe Calderon has sent his troops trying to stop the drugs they sell;

The Democratic Republic of Congo had an election that was supposed to end a civil war,
But the militia loyal to the losing candidate laid more than 600 corpses upon it capital doors;

Fifteen wars going on right now around the world,
I wonder if the blood has seeped the ground and reached the earth’s core;

Earth is a battlefield, covered in all of the blood that we shed,
Seems like we have nothing better to do than kill each other dead.
