Melanie C. Campos ~ MahTame

LI’L ME, I SEE AGAIN

She came out
And shrieked
On top of her
Lungs, quietly

Reached up
With open arms
Pleadingly so
Come cradle me

Long haired
Beauty, innocent
Shy is she still
Fearful; tearful

This is lil me
All of she; her
Tore up fully
Buried in pain

What is control
Am I out of it
Or is this reality
Facing the now

It’s ugly, aren’t I
This being bared
Vulnerable; shh
Lil girl; ‘nuff now’

Loving arms hold
Safetiness not far
Dare to believe
Releasing again

She came out
Quickly, needing
Me, myself, ‘n I
Crazy, I am not

Look in the mirror, Mel,
and you’ll see that the mirror
does not tarnish your beauty.

Even flowers lose fragrance
in the wind; but tranquility
always returns.
