RECURRENCE
Dreaming last night of a soldier in white
He looked down on me but not in spite
He lifted me up and dried my tears
I think I remember him
But I know not from where
I see the white uniform and the soft eyes
It’s then I remember he was there
When I was a child
Shy and meek wanting to hide
Afraid that I’d lose that first place prize
You were with me on that special day
When I entered the Olympics
With shyness and you said
You will win just you wait and see
And as soon as I did you vanished before me
You must be a guardian I wish I knew why
I only see you when I close my eyes
