Danielle N. Calhoun

Danielle, a native of Philadelphia, PA was born in 1978 with Spina Bifida. Despite being told that she would have a very difficult life, after several operations and with great determination, Dani learned to walk with the aid of crutches and lives and enjoys life to the fullest.
After graduating from Widener Memorial, a school for the disabled, in 1997, Dani moved to Johnstown, PA where she attended the Hiram G. Andrews Center. She graduated in 2000 with a Diploma for General Office Clerical. After a year break from studies, she enrolled in the Cambria County Area Community College to study Computer Information and Communications Technology.
When she has free time, she is an active participant in several on-line clubs (some of which she is the owner/moderator) and, after being introduced to the IWVPA Club by a dear friend, started to include war poetry in her folio of poems. Dani has a particular love for writing fantasy poems but she has an affinity with War Veterans and her excellent poetry on their behalf is a credit to her tenacious spirit and reflects the honor and respect with which she regards them.
