STANDING ON THE EDGE OF TODAY

Standing on the edge of today
watching time slip away,
I’m looking for a tomorrow
wherein there is no sorrow.

As each new day appears
I see only fears;
for this thing called PTSD
encompasses me with tears!

For some sixty years,
since World War Two,
the Mares of the night
have paid their due.

By standing on the edge of today
I shall see a tomorrow
where angels dance and sing
and their day I shall borrow!
