WE BLEED AGAIN

The United States of America is bleeding,
bleeding from its blasted body,
bleeding from a stake-driven heart,
its reward for keeping the peace
over the world for the past sixty years.

Americans bleed for those who died
in horrible deeds of vicious cowards
hiding behind misguided religious causes,
which foment into murder and maiming
of innocent and benevolent brothers.

Americans, unaware of religious deviants
bent on destroying this country,
cannot comprehend wanton killing,
but hold fast to living peacefully
by embracing peoples of every nation.

Zealots of medieval ferocity have had
their say, and we must have ours
in lasting strikes against terrorists
who would take away life and liberty,
as well as the right to live without fear.

We are admonished to love the enemy,
but full compliance with this awaits
ridding the world of killing savages
with twisted convictions for revenge
against imagined violations of their ideology.

Citizens of the United States shall never forget
the calamitous day of infamy in the new century,
bringing death and destruction from the air,
while giving birth to a new resolve for America:

To wipe from the earth those who would deny peace.
