DENNIS, ANDY AND MAUREEN

Webmaster's Note: In February 2006, Dennis Haines travelled to Florida to spend a week with Maureen and Andy Brigante. Nothing special about that...? Well, Dennis and Andy are Viet Nam Veterans, both of whom were wounded, but who had never met previously.

On February 11, 2006, Maureen wrote: ... on your web site there's a story about Dennis Haines. After meeting Dr Baldwin [who sponsored Dennis for the Award], we became aware of Dennis and started to email him. We have never met him, but he's coming by plane, to visit us this Sunday, and will stay for a week. We just feel so proud to be able to do something nice for this wonderful courageous man. He's on chemo therapy now and very weak, but he's still coming. This man is truly an inspiration to us all, and we're so proud to have his as our guest and to call him friend.
