TEST OF FAITH
Drip. Drip. Drip.
The poison circulates
chemo through his veins
while patiently he waits.
Destroying all of his cells,
the good along with bad,
causing him to fight
a fight like he’s never had.
He’s feeling sick from chemo
his energy is gone
side effects are setting in:
I hope they don’t last long.
At times I get so angry
wondering why this must be
why God doesn’t help him now
saving him from this misery.
Questions… there are many
I struggle to keep my faith
answers seem so far from reach
as anxiously I wait.
How simple it is to have faith
when it’s myself in suffering pain
but when it concerns one I love
faith is tested over and over again.
