DEAR GOD

Christmas time is here again
another year has passed us by…
A stream of tears are falling
I cannot help but cry.

Melanoma has taken over
my sisters days are done…
How will I go on without her
together we are one?

I’m going through the motions
the tinsel, lights and such…
the Christmas spirit can’t be found
my heart just aches so much.

Dear God in heaven above
I beg you to hear my plea…
take her in your arms today
and from suffering, set her free.

Her body is weak and tired
no longer has the strength to fight…
Take her to your Kingdom
Guide her to the light.

The everlasting light
a place of comfort and peace
let her know on her journey home
she takes a part of me…

Author’s Note: To my sister Linda with love. We lost an earth angel. Through her war with Melanoma Cancer, Linda taught those she loves many life lessons: some good… some not so good… but we learned… and we will remember – always. God hand chose a beautiful angel to be with Him in Heaven. She is wearing the wings she earned. Rest in peace my sister.
