SPANISH EYES

She had Spanish eyes
And never married
Her blood was true blue
Years of lovemaking hidden inside
From the days of being young and bold

Now her days have passed her by
With each day she grows old
Her heart of fire now is cold

But she looks back to the days
When her young heart was on fire
And all the young men
Looked at her with lust and desire

Her father never let her mix with mere common men
His daughter was his only prize
She had the most beautiful Spanish eyes

Deep dark brown eyes
That took your breath away
Golden honey dark skin
That would cause any man to sin

Then one day a Texas Cowboy rode into town
Saw the Spanish lady from a far
It wasn’t long before he caught her eye
When she gave him a smile but never said hi

She feared her father would find out
That this Cowboy didn’t have a drop of blue blood

She knew her father would not allow her to love
Just any man without blue blood

So she sent him a note to meet her in the barn
As she lay on the hay waiting for him
Just then the tall Cowboy walked on in
His shadow he cast by the lovers moonlight

He walked to her slowly and picked her up
Put his arms around her tightly
Never wanting to let go

As he laid her back down in the hay
Began to make love to her over and over again
Just then her father walked in
With a shotgun and shot the Cowboy dead
And told his daughter never to forget
That the Cowboy was of not blue blood
But now he was another dead Stud.

It was so long ago
The Spanish lady now is old
But they say her father
Killed more then 100 men
Her Spanish eyes finally have gone dim
And no more men ever came back
Her fire went out like a candle in the wind
The morale of this story is never look into her eyes!
