SOME CAREFUL THOUGHTS

Although this was not writ for me
I’m startled for I plainly see
A crocodile with gleaming teeth
To turn and rub him underneath
And when he sleeps, he thinks it through
He owns his stuff – and does review
I understand now what you mean
And yes! An author can demean
himself, without intention to
and wound someone without intent
for words of writers, can be bent
If word-smiths to themselves are true
They’re human, just like me and you;
For I have found my treasured friends
are those who come and make amends
And casualties are part of war
Still friendly fire hurts us more
It’s target always feels the pain
The marksman knows from where it came
A man of honor knows that he
Accepts responsibility.
