GRASS

The weather is cooler
This year’s mid-May
The farmers happily anticipate
The new crop of hay

So much grass have I cut
Since my mower’s repair?
I should have baled it
And sold the edible fare

Considering the seasons
And how quickly they go
I am immensely grateful
Not to be shoveling snow
