IWVPA Bronze Helmet Top Poet Award of Excellence

IWVPA BRONZE HELMET TOP POET AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
GUIDELINES
(Effective - August 2005)

  1. The IWVPA Bronze Helmet Top Poet Award for Excellence (BHA) is awarded to an individual contributor to the IWVPA website in recognition of an outstanding talent displayed in the body of writings that are included on the author's IWVPA index.
  2. The updated BHA graphic and new guidelines are effective from August 2005. All BHA Awards made for the period January 2001 to July 2005 remain valid and subject to the guidelines in force during that period. Those guidelines are available for perusal at Bronze Helmet Award Guidelines: Jan 2001 - Jul 2005
     
  3. The following are the criteria for eligibility for the award:
    1. The recipient of the award must have writings published on the IWVPA site by the end of the month preceding the month for which the award is made (e.g. The recipient of the August 2005 award must have an writings included on the IWVPA website by the end of July 2005).
    2. A recipient cannot be considered for the BHA award for consecutive months.
    3. The award is NOT available by application.
    4. The award shall be presented on a monthly basis.
       
  4. Any member of the IWVPA Club may nominate an author of their preference providing that the conditions of Paragraph 3 (above) are met. Members may advise the Webmaster of their nomination, by private email, at any time before or during the month preceding that for which the award is to be made.
     
  5. The IWVPA webmaster is to review the works published on the IWVPA site and make a decision as to the recipient based on the body of writing of the author.
  6. If an author is nominated or considered for a second or subsequent nomination for the BHA, only writings added to the author's IWVPA Index subsequent to the date of the previous award shall be considered.
     
  7. The IWVPA Webmaster shall have full and final responsibility for deciding the recipient of the Award.
     
  8. The webmaster will make the appropriate additions to the website and is responsible for advising the recipient of the award.
  9. The notification email shall include:
    1. A request that the graphic be placed on the author's site or his/her preferred site with a link back to IWVPA (if the author indeed has a site or preferred site.) The preferred site must include the work of the author for which the award has been made.
    2. The URL of the Author's IWVPA Index page that displays the award graphic.
    3. Notification that the inclusion of the award graphic and the link to IWVPA on the author's site or his/her preferred site is NOT a prerequisite of the presentation of the award.
