THEY ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
Memories that flow at night
Dreams that don’t change or make it right.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
They gave it all for the belief in freedom for all
Then the Master made his call.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
Men, friends and then brothers
Then they were lost just like so many others.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
Dreams of questions and decisions made
Could they have been spared if not for the government charade?

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
Are they looking down tonight?
Seeing those left behinds plight.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
Sometimes I feel that maybe I should have joined the group
I could have joined them in the sky; we could have all left in one fell swoop.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
But tonight I feel the guilt of made decisions
It’s too late to change conditions.

They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
So I guess I’ll go to my grave
With the feeling of my failure of them to save.

Yes. They are always on my mind
Those that left us behind.
